Semarang – Diponegoro University Geophysics hosted an event titled ELSA (Elnusa Leader Sharing & Action) on February 13, 2026, at FSM UNDIP. This event represents a strategic collaboration with PT Elnusa Tbk, integrating an industrial seminar with the official handover of an educational equipment grant to support student competency development.
Themed “Sharing Insights for Future Generations,” the ELSA program was designed as a collaborative learning space that bridges academic perspectives with industrial practices, particularly within the upstream oil and gas sector. The initiative aims to enhance students’ understanding of survey equipment utilization and operational dynamics within the energy industry.
Speakers from PT Elnusa Tbk—including Nur Kholis, Rustam Aji, Ahmad Rahmat, and Ardiyanto—shared strategic insights and firsthand experiences from the energy sector. In his opening remarks, Nur Kholis, as VP of Asset Reliability & Productivity at Elnusa, emphasized that the ELSA program is a testament to the company’s commitment to supporting educational development. He highlighted that alignment between academia and industry needs is a vital foundation for preparing talent capable of addressing the evolving challenges of the upstream sector, including supporting national production increases and operational efficiency.
This perspective was further reinforced by Rustam Aji, Corporate Secretary of Elnusa, who stated that bringing industry into the campus environment is a strategic move to broaden students’ awareness of the energy sector’s role in everyday life.
The core of the event featured an experience-sharing session where Ahmad Rahmat, Project Leader at PT Elnusa Tbk, detailed the dynamics of field work, specifically in seismic data acquisition and processing. Through this presentation, students gained a realistic overview of how technology is utilized in upstream operations and the vital role energy professionals play in maintaining national energy security.
As a form of concrete support for the learning process, PT Elnusa Tbk officially presented a grant of educational equipment to UNDIP Geophysics. The donation includes 100 geophone strings, two sets of Trimble GPS, two sets of Leica Total Stations, and one 428XL recording instrument unit. These tools will allow students to conduct practicums using the same technological standards found in the industry, thereby strengthening the practical application of their geophysical studies.
Through the ELSA program, PT Elnusa Tbk reaffirms its commitment to building a stronger bridge between industry and academia. Meanwhile, UNDIP Geophysics views this initiative as a strategic step toward closing the gap between graduate competencies and industry requirements.
This collaboration is expected to have a sustainable impact on enhancing human resource quality in the field of geophysics, while preparing students to become adaptive, competent professionals ready to contribute to the development of the national energy sector.
