SEMARANG – SMA Negeri 12 Semarang became a hub for cutting-edge scientific exploration as it hosted a community outreach program led by a distinguished Plasma Physics team on Friday (April 12, 2026). The event, attended by students from class XI-F.1, aimed to bridge the gap between advanced academic research and secondary education.
The outreach team featured prominent academics, including Qidir Maulana Binu Soesanto, Ph.D., Prof. Dr. Muhammad Nur, DEA., and Fajar Arianto, M.Si. Accompanied by physics students, the experts provided a unique learning experience for the participants, supported by the school’s physics teacher, Mr. Fajar.
The initiative focused on introducing the fundamental concepts of plasma physics and its diverse applications in modern technology. The team utilized an interactive teaching approach, fostering a lively environment for discussion and inquiry.
Students displayed remarkable enthusiasm, particularly during sessions regarding plasma’s role in energy, industrial sectors, and high-tech developments. The high volume of questions regarding plasma phenomena underscored the students’ curiosity about the “fourth state of matter.”
Beyond technical education, the program is designed to inspire the next generation of scientists to pursue physics at the university level. Furthermore, this initiative marks a significant step in strengthening the collaboration between higher education institutions and schools, ultimately elevating the standard of science education across Indonesia.
