Cepu – Diponegoro University Geophysics has reaffirmed its commitment to enhancing student quality and industry readiness by organizing a Company Visit to PPSDM Migas Cepu on November 18, 2025.
The program aims to bolster competence and broaden student understanding of the oil and gas industry, specifically regarding operational aspects and the technologies utilized in the field. Through this initiative, students gain more than just theoretical knowledge; they receive direct exposure to the professional environment of the energy sector.
The itinerary began with a comprehensive presentation by the PPSDM Migas Cepu team, covering the oil and gas business process from exploration through to production. This session served as a vital foundation for students to understand how geophysical concepts are applied within an industrial context.
Following the presentation, participants toured several premier laboratory facilities, including the Petroleum Laboratory, Drilling Laboratory, and Production Laboratory. During these sessions, students gained firsthand experience observing the equipment, workflows, and technical processes essential to oil and gas operations.
This Company Visit represents a strategic step in bridging the gap between academia and industry. By interacting directly with practitioners and observing industrial facilities, students are expected to develop a more applied perspective, better preparing them for future professional challenges.
Through such initiatives, UNDIP Geophysics continues its efforts to provide a learning experience that is relevant, adaptive, and aligned with the needs of the energy industry—ensuring the development of graduates who are highly competent and competitive on both a national and global scale.
