Semarang, August 5, 2022 – The Department of Physics, Faculty of Science and Mathematics (FSM), Universitas Diponegoro (Undip), successfully held the 22nd Curah Pikir Sains (CPS XXII) scientific discussion. The event focused on the significant role of radioisotopes in various fields, including health, industry, the environment, and agriculture, and was attended by academics, students, and researchers.

This hybrid event featured three key speakers from the Nuclear Energy Research Organization (ORTN), National Research and Innovation Agency (BRIN), namely:

  • Prof. Dr. Heny Suseno, M.Si.
  • Dr. rer. nat. Rien Ritawidya, M.Farm.
  • Marlina, M.Si.

The discussion opened with remarks from representatives of the Department of Physics FSM Undip, highlighting the importance of nuclear technology, particularly radioisotopes, in various sectors. The speakers explained how the application of radioisotopes has contributed to improving quality of life in the healthcare sector, such as in cancer diagnosis and treatment, as well as its usage in industries and agriculture supporting environmental sustainability.

Participants, both attending in person at the Meeting Room on the 1st Floor of the Physics Department FSM Undip and via Zoom, were highly engaged, actively participating in the Q&A session. This enthusiasm reflects the strong interest in the development of radioisotope research and technology in Indonesia.

Additionally, attendees were given the opportunity to receive e-certificates as a token of appreciation for their participation in this scientific discussion.
