Bali, July 31, 2025 — Physics students from Diponegoro University (UNDIP) took part in the prestigious Summer Course on Modern Optics and Applications (SCoMOA) 2025, held at Udayana University, Bali, from July 25 to 28, 2025.

Organized by the Indonesian Optical Society (InOS), this annual international program brings together students, lecturers, and professionals from various institutions, both domestic and international, including industry representatives working in the fields of optics and photonics. This year, SCoMOA was attended by hundreds of participants, both on-site at Udayana University and online via synchronized digital platforms.

The program featured lecture sessions delivered by international experts in modern optics, covering topics such as photonic crystals, plasmonics, fiber lasers, metasurfaces, and quantum optics. Among the speakers was Dr. Ali Khumaeni, a lecturer from the UNDIP Physics Department, who presented a lecture on Laser-Induced Breakdown Spectroscopy (LIBS).

In addition to lectures, participants engaged in laboratory practicums, case studies, group discussions, and a final exam. This format was designed to provide a comprehensive understanding—both theoretical and practical—of cutting-edge optical technologies.

The participation of UNDIP Physics students in SCoMOA 2025 reflects the university’s commitment to encouraging student involvement in global academic forums and supporting the transformation toward a world-class, inclusive, and collaborative university.
