On Saturday, October 14, 2023, the second Joint Webinar between the Physics Department of the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences (FMNS), Diponegoro University (UNDIP) and the Advanced Medical and Dental Institute (IPPT), Universiti Sains Malaysia (USM) was held. This second Joint Webinar carried the theme: Image Processing for Radiology and Nuclear Medicine, featuring two experts from both institutions, Dr. Mohd Syahir Mansor (from USM) and Dr. Choirul Anam (from UNDIP). Dr. Syahir delivered a presentation titled: Towards PET/CT Precision in Oncology and Neurology Application, and Dr. Anam presented on the topic of Image processing on CT images for automatic image quality assessment. The Joint Webinar was moderated by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Mohd Zahri Abdul Aziz (from USM).
Dean of FMNS UNDIP, Prof. Dr. Widowati, S.Si, M.Si, expressed her hope that the well-established collaboration between FMNS UNDIP and IPPT USM could be maintained and even expanded. It is expected that other activities such as research collaboration, student exchange, and staff mobility can be realized in the near future. Meanwhile, Dr. Noor Khairiah A. Karim in her remarks expressed that this second Joint Webinar could serve as a forum for both parties to share research results and build stronger research collaborations in the future.
The second Joint Webinar, which took place from 09.00-11.00 WIB, was attended by about 150 participants from UNDIP and USM. In addition, Medical Physicists, Radiologists, and Radiographers from various hospitals in Indonesia and Malaysia also participated in this event.
