Semarang, September 19, 2025 – Another proud achievement has been attained by a student of the Department of Physics, Faculty of Science and Mathematics, Diponegoro University. Ghozi Abid Prayoga, a student of the Physics Study Program, successfully won the Best Paper Student Category award at the prestigious event The 11th Indonesia International Geothermal Convention & Exhibition (IIGCE) 2025, held at the Jakarta International Convention Center.

At this largest international scientific forum in the field of geothermal energy, Ghozi presented a paper entitled:
“GeoFlex Hub: AI-Driven Flexible Load Integration for Zero-Waste and Revenue-Optimized Geothermal Power Systems.”

This research introduces an innovation for utilizing surplus geothermal electricity through the integration of flexible loads such as crypto mining and green hydrogen production, controlled with Artificial Intelligence technology based on Reinforcement Learning (PPO).

The findings show that this intelligent approach can increase the economic value of geothermal projects by more than +29% revenue gain while also supporting the achievement of Net Zero Emission 2060 through the utilization of sustainable renewable energy.

This award serves as recognition of Ghozi’s scientific contribution in the field of geothermal energy and further strengthens the role of Diponegoro University students in academic and industrial forums at both national and international levels.

The Department of Physics at Diponegoro University greatly appreciates this achievement and hopes that Ghozi’s success will inspire other students to continue creating, innovating, and contributing to the advancement of science and the development of sustainable energy in Indonesia.
