Semarang, September 23, 2025 – Indonesian academia once again marks its presence on the international stage. Qidir Maulana Binu Soesanto, Ph.D., a lecturer from the Department of Physics, Faculty of Science and Mathematics, Diponegoro University (UNDIP), stood as the sole representative from Indonesia at the 29th International Summer Institute on Phenomenology of Elementary Particle Physics and Cosmology (SI 2025), held in Yeosu, South Korea, on August 17–22, 2025.

SI 2025 is a prestigious annual scientific forum that brings together leading researchers and scholars from around the world to discuss the latest developments in theoretical physics, cosmology, and particle phenomenology. Beyond serving as a platform for knowledge exchange, the event also plays a pivotal role in fostering global academic collaboration.

Dr. Qidir’s participation as the only Indonesian delegate underscores the nation’s tangible contribution to high-level international scientific discourse. His involvement also strengthens UNDIP’s global reputation, particularly in the field of fundamental research in particle physics and cosmology.

“With this participation, Indonesia is not merely a spectator but an active contributor to discussions shaping the foundations of modern science,” Dr. Qidir remarked.

It is expected that Indonesia’s presence at SI 2025 will open doors to broader research collaborations, strengthen academic ties across nations, and inspire the younger generation to engage in fundamental research. The involvement of Indonesian scientists in such forums further highlights the importance of investing in basic research as a cornerstone for the advancement of science and technology in the future.
