The Geothermal Cuan Maksimal team has made significant strides by launching a new startup, Geothermine. This venture focuses on optimizing the output of Geothermal Power Plants (PLTP) by integrating sustainable Bitcoin mining technology. This innovation is designed to generate substantial profits, addressing the long payback period often associated with such projects. Additionally, Geothermine aims to balance electricity supply and demand by utilizing excess power from PLTPs for Bitcoin mining, ensuring no energy goes to waste.
Founded by the 2021 undergraduate Geophysics Study Group from the Physics Department, the team includes Ghozi Abid Prayoga as Founder, Rinndy Antika Dwi Purnama as Co-Founder, and Rakha Aryan Maulana Hakim as Co-Founder.
The startup idea competition, held from July 9 to July 14, 2024, culminated in an award ceremony on July 16, 2024. The competition was conducted online, with the awards presented during the Prakarsa Jaringan Cerdas Indonesia (PJCI) 2024 symposium at the PLN Central Office Auditorium, South Jakarta.
PJCI, the organizer, hosted this national startup idea competition for the second time, attracting 43 startups from across Indonesia. Geothermine secured a place among the top five startups and won the “Most Popular Startup Idea” award, highlighting the team’s innovative approach to sustainable and profitable geothermal technology.
With the slogan “Powering the Future with Clean Energy & Smart Investment,” Geothermine is committed to pioneering the use of clean energy and sustainable investment, fostering a greener and more profitable future for all.
