Semarang, September 4, 2024 – The Department of Physics, Faculty of Science and Mathematics (FSM), Universitas Diponegoro (Undip) successfully hosted the Visiting Lecturer 2024 event, featuring an international expert in medical physics and materials from Universiti Malaya, Malaysia. The event, held on September 3, 2024, focused on three important topics highly relevant to technological advancements in healthcare and physics:
1. Metabolite Characterisation of Breast, Bladder, Endo, and Amyloid Tissue Using Raman Spectroscopy
2. Skin Dose Measurement of Graphite/Graphene
3. Radioimaging of Nanoparticle Contrast Agent Conjugated Iohexol
Moderated by Zaenal Arifin, S.Si., M.Si., F.Med, Smart Solution Manager of FSM Undip, the event was attended by students and academics from FSM Undip. The keynote speaker, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Siti Fairus Binti Abdul Sani from the Department of Physics, Faculty of Science, Universiti Malaya, shared in-depth insights into the latest technological applications in tissue characterization, skin dose measurement, and nanoparticle radioimaging.
In his opening remarks, Prof. Dr. Kusworo Adi, S.Si., M.T., Dean of the Faculty Science and mathematics, Undip, emphasized the importance of international collaboration in advancing innovation in physics research and its applications, particularly in the medical field. This event provided new perspectives for students and paved the way for further research collaborations between the Department of Physics, Undip, and Universiti Malaya.
The enthusiasm of the participants, especially the students, was evident from the active discussions during the Q&A session. Participants expressed deep interest in the topics discussed, particularly the innovative methods used in research and their applications in healthcare.
