Minister of Trade (Mendag) Zulkifli Hasan saw firsthand the agriculture of organic vegetables merbabu (SOM) in Kopeng. Trade Minister Zulkifli Hasan also dialogued with farmers regarding organic farming.
The Trade Minister strongly supports this product because it really helps Indonesia’s food security. This technology can contribute positively to the availability of stocks of basic necessities (staples) and price stability.
SOM utilizes the D’Ozone machine which uses environmentally friendly plasma technology as one of the solutions to extend the shelf life of vegetables and fruits; minimize the growth of bacteria, viruses, and fungi that cause decay in vegetables and fruits; and reducing pesticides attached to vegetables and fruits
SOM has produced more than 50 variants of organic vegetables ranging from leaf vegetables, flowers, fruits, bulbs, salad vegetables, and herbs that have been certified organic and Halal MUI on an area of 10 hectares. Also accompanying the Minister of Trade Zulkifli Hasan, namely the Acting Director General of Domestic Trade Syailendra. Trade Minister Zulkifli Hasan also dialogued with farmers regarding organic farming.
Based on field facts, conventional land management can cause 20-30 percent damage. The greatest extent of damage, which is 8.9 percent, is contributed from the harvesting process to transportation which is also carried out conventionally.
