Semarang, September 20, 2024 — In an effort to enhance educational quality and academic development, the Physics Department of the Faculty of Engineering and Science at Universitas Pembangunan Nasional (UPN) “Veteran” Jawa Timur conducted a benchmarking visit with the Physics Department of the Faculty of Science and Mathematics at Universitas Diponegoro (UNDIP). The event, attended by lecturers and staff from both institutions, was held in a collaborative and enthusiastic atmosphere.

The benchmarking session began with a warm welcome from the Vice Dean of the Faculty of Science and Mathematics at UNDIP, who expressed appreciation for this collaborative initiative. In his opening remarks, he emphasized the importance of synergy between universities in addressing the challenges of higher education, especially in the fields of science and technology.

Following the welcoming remarks, the Physics Department of UNDIP delivered an overview of their academic structure, achievements, and flagship programs. They highlighted strategic steps taken to improve educational quality, including strengthening laboratory-based research and developing a curriculum aligned with industry needs.

Next, the Physics Department of UPN Veteran Jawa Timur presented updates on their academic progress. They outlined various efforts to enhance the quality of their graduates, such as improving the curriculum and upgrading teaching facilities, while also sharing the challenges faced in developing their study program.

The event concluded with a warm and informative discussion between the two institutions. The discussion covered a wide range of topics, including laboratory management, strategies for increasing scientific publications, and potential research collaborations between the two departments. Both institutions exchanged valuable insights and experiences that are expected to contribute to their future academic development.

This benchmarking activity is expected to serve as a foundation for more intensive collaboration between UPN Veteran Jawa Timur and UNDIP, enriching both institutions’ academic insights in their pursuit of higher educational quality.
